Planning a Spring Wedding

A spring wedding is exactly what this bride has been dreaming about since she was young. What she didn't know then, but happy to have next to her side was her handsome armed force solider, making this day perfect.

The backdrop of sheer weather and the sweet smell of flowers in blooms can only say spring is here. Today on the blog we are happy to share our feature on Zola of this prestige wedding photographed by Felicia Schumacher Photographer.

Here are 6 things to include in a spring wedding to make it perfect:

Chiffon

Chiffon is the perfect material for a Spring wedding because it’s lightweight and breaths. That means your bridesmaids won’t be weighed down by layers of thick fabric that is guaranteed to be heavy and lead to sweaty bods. Trust us, they’ll thank you for the thoughtful decision. The same goes for any flower girls, of course.

Sunset Photos

Is there ever a time that the golden hour isn’t romantic? This time of day is perfect for that outdoor reception, and your photos will be AH-MAZING! Catch the sunset with all of your loved ones, sip champagne under the stars, and dance the night away with your honey. Sounds downright dreamy if you ask me.

Bring Spring to the Wedding Cake

Think delicate pink cherry blossoms and layers of winding sugar roses or even real flowers to top off your wedding cake. Spring is no time for a cake that isn’t overflowing with flowers whether they are real or edible.

Flowers in the Hair

If you’re going to have a Spring wedding then flowers are a must but aside from the usual bouquets and buttonholes why not take the flower theme a whole lot further by adding floral wreaths? The floral wreaths can be worn in the bridesmaids’ and flower girls’ hair adding the perfect garden feel.

 Bright Colors

Spring fever is nothing if not an invitation to use bright colors in your wedding decor! We may be partial to this bride’s use of pink, but it’s hard to imagine a color scheme that doesn’t perfectly complement this time of year. Have your makeup artist tie the color palette into your wedding day look. Think light bronze, a hint of coral in your cheeks, and a pop of natural pink on the lip! Can you say radiant goddess?

 Bountiful Blooms

A spring wedding must have flowers and lots of them! Take inspiration from our garden setting into your own hands with a luscious & luxe bouquet, floral or swags of greenery thought out the venue. Our garden makes for the perfect backdrop for a bounty of blooms

The important part of any wedding is to make it you! It doesn't matter if you have a Spring, Fall, Winter or Summer wedding, as long as you got the cutie next to your side it will be the perfect day. Cheers to planning weddings

7 Essential Items to Bring to Your Wedding Day

SheaBriePhotography-WrightHouse-8.jpg

TODAY on the blog we have a guest writer: Shea Brie Photography. She is sharing 7 essential items to bring to your wedding day! (Learn more about Shea at the end of the blog post)

Enjoy XOXO

Prepping for your wedding day can be stressful. You’ve hired your DJ, florist, venue, photographer & have your dress. Now its just the little things you need to pack to enhance your wedding day & refrain from any last minute running around!

SheaBriePhotography-WrightHouse-11.jpg

1. A steamer: It’s highly suggested to bring a steamer to add some last minute touches to everyones outfit! No one wants to stare at a wrinkly dress…. (also chances are high your photographer won’t edit it out)

2. A fancy dress hanger: You photographer will most likely take photos of your wedding dress. Your hanger will be in the photos. It is highly suggested to bring a nice wood hanger or something with a little customization…. anything other than plastic!

3. Hair Essentials: Always bring extra bobby pins, hairspray, hair-ties, etc. Last minute hair touches may be necessary!

4. Emergency kit: Band aids & ibuprofen are always a necessity on wedding days! Its best to make sure you have them with you.

5. Small Details: Your photographer will most likely want to take photos of all your details including: your jewelry, rings (bride & grooms), invitation suite, shoes, veil, dress & perfume. It is suggested you keep everything together in a safe spot so you don’t have to run around to find everything they may request.

6. Your marriage license: Sounds silly, I know! However some couples do forget to bring it on their wedding day. Maybe put a bridesmaid or family member in charge of it!

7. Change of shoes: There is nothing worst that having your feet hurt all day. Bring a change of shoes so that your feet can readjust!

I hope this helps you as you begin to pack your bags for one of the biggest days of your life. Something to remember: even if you forget something… that is completely okay & nothing to stress about. At the end of the day, your a saying “I do” and committing the rest of your lives together. That should be the focus, not the tiny details!
